Let me introduce myself, I am Ana Iglesias, faculty in the University Carlos III of Madrid (Spain). Since 1999 I work at the Advanced Databases Group in the  Computer Science Department.

I am currently teaching Database Design and Advanced Databases and I have been working in several National research projects, some of them as main researcher. Moreover, I am collaborating in the Spanish Center of Captioning and Audio-description (CESyA) as responsible of the database service.

Last December (2004), I finished my Ph.D. thesis, where and adaptive and intelligent educational system has been developed (RLATES: Reinforcement Learning Adaptive and inTelligent Educational System). In RLATES, adaptive and intelligent navigation support is provided to each student according their learning characteristics, based only in previous interaction with other students with similar learning characteristics. Main references to journals and conference papers about RLATES can be found in Publications.

I have been working at Carnegie Mellon University as a visitor scholar during 7 months (from February to August 2005). It was a post-doctoral research stay. I have been working with Vincent Aleven (Human-Computer Interaction Institute) and Carolyn P. Rose (Language Technologies Institute/Human Computer Interaction Institute) in CycleTalk project.

My research interests combines Adaptive and Intelligent Educational Systems, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Accessibility and Database Design.
